Permanent exhibition dedicated to the famous painter, considered as "the soul of Montmartre", the Parisian area where he lived. His paints depict the life in the Moulin Rouge and in the other Parisian cabarets. Moreau, a painter famous for his allegorical and mythological subjects, was a master of symbolism. He renovated his home to accommodate large workshops at the same time preserving the intimate character of the first floor apartment. The museum was bequeathed to the government along with the artist's collections, in 1902.
